TRY offers an amazing calendar of activities and events which bring fun to all members. In September, we celebrate the beginning of Fall with a Hayride and hotdogs night. From October until March, the first Friday evening of each month offers dances with a live DJ, followed on the second Friday evening by Fun Night ( i.e. bingo, crafts, popcorn and a movie, Monte Carlo night).  These options provide a relaxing environment for individuals ages 13 and up to socialize with old friends and make some new ones.  Santa Claus makes a scheduled visit on the first Friday evening in December, where everybody receives a gift and has a picture taken with the jolly ol’ elf.  We shake up the dance schedule by presenting the dinner and Prom evening on a special night in April. July hosts a week long day camp with nearly a one to one ratio of volunteer to member campers.  Transportation to and from camp and lunch are provided free of charge. Activities such as arts & crafts, fishing, athletic games, and more can be expected.  Additional events include September’s family picnic at North Park Lodge, March’s Athletics Day at Wexford Elementary School, April’s Spring Festival at Pine Park, and August’s Fun Fore All Day with game and ride tokens provided. There is NEVER a charge for TRY members to participate in any of our events or activities.

Athletics Day

An afternoon filled with all different sports activities, each with a point value that converts into a medal. A snack is served, followed by Mat Ball; a great team activity.  The day ends with a medal ceremony where every individual is honored in a particular category. Registration is requested.

Hayride and Hotdogs

A great evening of fun starts off with a hayride in a sided wagon (for safety), usually including some off key singing. Rides continue throughout the evening. Hotdogs are roasted by the members and fellowship is shared by all. This activity is held at the Shenot Farm and Market.

Spring Festival

Enjoy an afternoon in the warm spring-like temperatures and participate in all types of fun activities. There will be spring bingo with prizes for all winners, as well as other game and activtiy stations set up around the designed area at Pine Community Park in Wexford. Chips, cookies, and a drink will be provided. Registration is requested.

Bowl-A-Thon

This is a unique activity which originated as a fund raiser at Commodore Perry Bowling Lanes. It is now a free activity comprised of up to 3 games of bowling. Lunch is provided. The participants are encouraged to continue with the fund raising aspect and are recognized for their devoted efforts. Registration is requested.

Fun Night

Fun nights consist of a variety of fun activities. Movie night is a time to enjoy that perfect  PG movie indoors with popcorn and drinks.  Members may bring their own chairs and blankets to create their own comfort. Bingo night is a favorite activity supported by many volunteers, where ALL members win at least one prize.  Drinks and a snack end the evening. Craft nights pair volunteer assistance with the member’s personal creative touch to make homemade treasures that are taken home that evening.  All supplies are provided.  Snacks and drinks end the evening. Carnival night presents that perfect fun atmosphere with games and relay races, concluding with prizes, drinks and snacks. Be sure to check the upcoming events calendar for these activities.

Family Picnic

Fall and family make for a wonderful afternoon at North Park Lodge in Allison Park, PA. Parents are invited to sit back and relax as everybody enjoys a catered picnic lunch, accompanied by music and other fun activities. Additional family members are welcome to join in the festivities at a minimal charge. RSVP is requested.

Dances

Dance the night away to music provided by a DJ who always spins the member’s favorite music. Each month’s dance has a theme in which members are encouraged to dress accordingly to blend into the mood of the evening. When the music stops, members rest their weary feet with a cool beverage and snack. Be sure to check the upcoming events calendar for the monthly theme.

Prom

Experience a wonderful evening of dinner and dancing. Special music is part of the evening, as well as photos with your friends. Attire is anywhere from casual, to Sunday best, to fancy. This is a night to make memories.

Camp

TRY Camp takes place during the last week of July at the Pine Township Community Park. This week long camp runs from 10AM to 2PM, Monday through Friday. Transportation is available if needed - a bus picks up the members and safely gets them to and from TRY camp each day. As soon as each member arrives, their fun filled day begins. In the mornings, all members rotate through 4 different activities such as fishing, crafts, shows, petting zoo, etc. In the afternoon, we have fun with interactive group activities such as bingo, dancing, etc. Lunch is provided each day. Camp is completely cost free to all TRY members. We look forward to building friendships and making everlasting memories each year! Registration is necessary!

All TRY events are held at Wexford Elementary School 250 Brown Road, Wexford, PA 15090 unless otherwise specified.
