Update! With deep concern for all of our TRY members, their families and volunteers, we regretfully have made the decision to cancel the Spring Festival on April 18th, as well as the Dinner Dance on May 1st. Please continue to monitor our website for additional updates.
Teenagers and adults with special needs enjoy the warmth and attention of our dedicated volunteers. At TRY – A Special Needs Organization, one of the best-kept secrets in the North Hills, we fulfill the social and recreational needs of individuals with special needs, ages 13 and up. We have been successful in doing so since 1970. Combining our numerous programs with amazing volunteers is the reason why TRY works so well. Fun Nights, Athletics Day, the hayride, egg hunt, dances, and many other events bring us all, members and volunteers, together for fun, relaxation, exercise, and social interactions. Craft Night promotes a source of pride and improves dexterity with projects using the assistance of our volunteers. Be part of the action with the most enlightening experience of all, our annual one-week day camp, with group-style one-on-one camaraderie. Volunteers may receive free transportation to our facility where games, sports, music, swimming, fishing, arts & crafts, award ceremonies, and lunches are experienced by all.
Sharing and caring is the best description of your experience volunteering at TRY.
Unbelievably, there are no costs to any of our participating members. All of our services, all of our dedication, and all of our fun, food, and good times are free. This is why volunteering is such a critical part of the organization. Join us now as a volunteer as we try to help those who mean so much to us and our community. Because TRY – a special needs organization has no paid employees, we rely entirely on the efforts of volunteers to accomplish our mission. We have dedicated volunteers at all levels and some have served with TRY since 1970. We encourage high school student volunteers to participate especially with our Day Camp.
Reach out and become a TRY volunteer. Your volunteer time commitment is completely flexible. This allows you to volunteer in accordance with your schedule. If you are the parent or guardian of an individual with special needs, we invite you to attend our functions. Having trouble finding time to volunteer? There is always the option of donating, see the area of our website titled donations.
